Google has recently released the Android 15 QPR1 Beta 2 for Pixel devices, and there is so much more that is new and exciting! If you have one of these devices, such as a Pixel 8 Pro, you probably want to know what is coming and how this will change things for you. Let’s jump into all the details about this latest update!

What’s New in the Update?
This update uses build number P41.240823.009. One of the first things you’re likely to notice is that some new wallpapers are available. If you like these wallpapers, you may download them today via the “Wallpapers by In Depth Tech Reviews” app. Google has added twelve exclusive wallpapers in the app!
Home Screen Changes

I think it is very evident that the new Beta 2 has improved animations when opening and closing apps. The default animations are a bit quicker but also significantly smoother. When you’re closing an application, the blur effect fades away for the transition back to home, so that is really nice.
Another thing is that the appearance of folders for applications has been updated. When a folder is expanded, overlay card will go down, and some of the text underneath will be covered, making the icons inside the folder pop.
Lock Screen Tweaks
Lock screen also has some changes. The lock screen transition from always on display is now bouncier. The new animation makes unlocking your device feel fresh.
Quick Settings and Notifications
Screen recording is one of the updated features, that has been optimized in quick settings. So now you would be able to easily capture an app, it just says “Record One App”. So the existing “Next” button to start recording, but it’s all much clearer as to what does what now.

If you are playing a video in full screen, then the notifications will come smaller. This reduces the distraction caused to you while you view your content.
Keyboard Improvements
A nice thing about the keyboard is that it now has a new look for the bottom-right button, which now presents itself as a language button, so one would easily switch between other languages. So, if you want to tweak the settings, you can now tap and hold it in a redesigned card to quickly access your keyboard settings.
Redesigned the Settings
The whole settings menu has been redone. Bye bye, glorious header. Goodbye too the ridiculously big search box. No matter what, the white background always is there, making it that much easier to read. Options are now grouped more logically, so this is exactly what you need when you need it.

A really nice feature of animation is actually displayed, showing you last tapped position while navigating the menus. It keeps track of where you are in the settings.
New Features for Tablets
This update also comes with features for tablets. With the addition of a desktop windowing feature, you can now open multiple apps at once, bringing you the experience of the desk top. For the first time, lock screen widgets that you might like to modify by swiping from the right edge of your lock screen are available.

Bug Fixes
As usual, this beta, like any other update, features tens of bug fixes. These strengthen and make your device run smoothly. To be able to view all the detailed fixes, you might have to pause the video or check on the notes on the update.
Conclusion
In general, there are really pretty interesting changes made with the Android 15 QPR1 Beta 2. Really looking forward to the faster animations and better organization in the settings. Update these and let’s see what you can get from the new update. If you have a Pixel, check out the features in the given list.
