The Aprilia Tuono 457 has been revealed at the EICMA 2024 in Milan. This motorcycle is exciting for many reasons. It is the naked version of the Aprilia RS 457. While they share some parts, they also have important differences. Let’s dive into everything you need to know about the Tuono 457.
Design of the Tuono 457
The design of the Tuono 457 is unique. Some people might not like it, but many find it quite adorable. Unlike other Tuono models like the Tuono 660 or Tuono V4, the Tuono 457 stands out. The headlamp is a highlight. It has Boomerang-shaped DRLs and a vertically stacked LED headlamp in the center.

If you look closely, the fuel tank and tail section look a lot like the RS 457. The tank extensions are sharp and angular, giving the bike a strong presence. The Tuono 457 is unveiled in white, and there are also red and black color options. What do you think about the design? Is it better than other Tuono models? Share your thoughts in the comments!
Powerful Engine
The Tuono 457 will have a 457cc liquid-cooled parallel twin engine. This engine has a 270° crankshaft, just like the RS 457 sport bike. It is not clear yet if Aprilia will change the tuning or gearing of the engine for the Tuono 457. However, we expect it to perform similarly to the RS 457.
The RS 457 has shown impressive engine performance. It has a linear power delivery. The mid-range and top-end power are punchy. So, we believe the Tuono 457 will also be fun to ride. It comes with a six-speed gearbox. Recently, Aprilia reduced the price of the quick shifter for the RS 457. This makes it more affordable for riders.

Chassis and Suspension
The chassis of the Tuono 457 is built with an aluminum frame, just like the RS 457. It features a 41 mm upside-down fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Both suspension components have preload adjustability. This should also be true for the Tuono 457.
The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with Eurogrip Proto Extreme tires. In our experience, these tires perform well. The Tuono 457 has a single disc brake at both ends, along with dual-channel ABS for safety.
Ergonomics and Comfort
One of the major differences is in the handlebars. The RS 457 has clip-on handlebars, while the Tuono 457 comes with a single-piece tubular handlebar. This change should make the bike more comfortable for city riding and touring.

The footpeg positioning may also differ. The Tuono 457 is designed to be a friendlier motorcycle for everyday use. Unlike the RS 457, which has a sporty riding position, the Tuono 457 aims for comfort.
Features of the Tuono 457
The Tuono 457 is packed with features. It has a full LED lighting system. The TFT instrument cluster offers Bluetooth connectivity. This allows riders to accept or reject calls, get message notifications, and control music tracks easily.
Additionally, the bike includes rider aids like a traction control system and three ride modes. These modes adjust the ABS and traction control settings based on the rider’s preferences.

Competition and Pricing
The main rival of the Tuono 457 is the KTM 390 Duke. The Duke is a great motorcycle but is a single-cylinder bike. The Tuono 457 is expected to be priced a little higher than the Duke. The RS 457 is priced at around ₹4.10 lakh ex-showroom. We believe the Tuono 457 will be priced under ₹4 lakh, possibly around ₹3.90 lakh. This pricing could make it an attractive option for many riders.
Launch Timeline
The India launch of the Tuono 457 is expected at the India Bike Week 2024, scheduled for December. We are not sure yet if this event will include a price announcement or just an unveiling. We will have to wait and see!

In summary, the Aprilia Tuono 457 brings a lot of excitement. With its unique design, powerful engine, and comfortable ergonomics, it looks like a great option for riders. We can’t wait to see how it performs on the road!
